Check It Out

Dear Linwood Family and Friends,

There is some big news coming out of Linwood!  The Breeze has become a little brisker!  For years we have been blessed by The Breeze, the weekly newsletter of Linwood.  Now – this week – The Breeze is a little bit brisker than ever before, beginning before the season begins and being available wherever you are.  Check it out!

The above link will take you to the online edition of of the first Breeze of the season.  What is the theme for the 2014 season?  How did the year rounders make it through the winter?  And much more!

This summer we will be having an expanded version of The Breeze, containing good information as it has in the past, but also various articles and columns celebrating what Linwood is all about!  Printed copies will be available for those in the Park, but those who do not happen to be at the Park at various times can also be connected through the online version.

Is this a big deal – or not?  I believe it is.

Communication is key to any relationship and any organization.  The power of the word – written and spoken – is a reflection of God Himself.  How did He create all that is?  He spoke it into being.  How did He convey the essence of the Old Covenant?  He wrote the commandments on tablets of stone.  When He sent the Messiah into this world, we are told that “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”

Our faith as Christians has often been passed along as one generation has told the story of salvation to another generation.  This year our first vespers service (June 15th) is going to be a “telling of the story” as together we recount what God has done and why we call ourselves Christians.

It is vital for the Linwood community that we find ways to “tell our story” at every opportunity.  it is important to remind ourselves of what makes this such a special place  It is important to celebrate the grace and wonder that God has entrusted to this place  It is important that we are bold in declaring to future generations that Linwood is a place in the heart – and a place close to God’s heart.

I know that is a tall assignment for a little weekly newsletter.  But, dare we aim for anything less?

The 2014 season is almost here!

Blessings in Christ,
Hu Auburn, Linwood Park Pastor
