“Let us pray…”
Three words that can hush a room. Three words that can take the energy out of a gathering. Three words not usually associated with excitement and vitality.
Yet, that is not how prayer is portrayed to us in the Scriptures. Prayer is joyous and energizing. Prayer is deep and heart wrenching. Prayer is connecting with the greatest power in the universe. Prayer is quiet – but even then it is filled with life. Prayer is anything but dull!
And so, I am inviting you – actually urging you! – to join with us on Sunday evening, August 18, for a “Concert of Prayer.” It will be the fastest hour that you will spend at Linwood.
What are we going to do?
We are going to pray through song and Scripture. We are going to pray in silence. We are going to pray one word prayers. We are going to lift prayer requests from the Linwood community. We are going to pray for one another. If this sounds interesting, but something that is new to you, let me assure you that you will led through the whole process and are free to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
We will be gathering at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. I would encourage you to bring with you a Bible and a candle (with a stand or holder).
Come and share with us a very special time together and with the Lord.
Yours in Christ,
Linwood Park Pastor
