Bible Study
After 10 weeks of challenging teaching and discussion, the weekly Bible Study on Wednesday mornings has ended. Many thanks to our park pastor, Hu Auburn, for leading us. We will look forward to another challenging study next summer.
ROOF REMARKS…
As many of you know, when the Linwood Park Company put a new roof on the tabernacle last year, the Council of Christian Life agreed to pay half of the cost ($20,000). As that amount is larger than our total annual budget, we requested assistance from the Linwood family, who responded generously by giving $17,500. In addition to our 2010 budget of $18,576, it will take about $2,500 to retire our debt, which must be paid by the end of this year.
If you would like to participate in this effort, please make your check payable to the Linwood Council of Christian Life. You may hand your check to any member of the Council, or mail it to: Linwood Council of Christian Life, Box 931, Vermilion, OH 44089. Thank you for your faithful support.
THE LINWOOD COUNCIL OF CHRISTIAN LIFE will meet in the old grocery store (note location change) at 8:00 on Saturday, Sept. 4. Executive Committee meets Friday evening, Sept. 3, at 7:30 at Carol Deuber’s cottage.
Please let a member of the Council know if you have comments or suggestions that we should consider for the 2011 season.
Adirondack Chair Auction: The Linwood Council of Christian Life is auctioning off a beautiful chair, hand painted by Ann Peters. The proceeds will benefit the Tabernacle roof repair fund. Ann has outdone herself with the beautiful nautical theme. This is truly a work of art and one of a kind. The chair can be viewed at the grocery store or in the Tabernacle before or after services. Bids can be made at the Store or by emailing a bid to Linwoodccl@gmail.com . Bidding closes immediately after the Pioneer service on Sunday, September 6th. This is a unique opportunity to obtain an original by Ann, and useful too!. We ask that bids begin at $50 with a minimum increase of $20. Bid early and bid often!!
An Important Message from the Linwood Park Board
The Rules and Regulations of Linwood Park states, NO Alcoholic Beverages, illegal or dangerous drugs or narcotics permitted on the grounds.”
Recently we have seen more and more people walking through the park and on the beach with open containers of beer and wine and alcoholic beverages. This will not be condoned.
The Board of Directors thanks you in advance for abiding by the rules
Please be extra careful after dark while walking through the park. There have been several skunk sightings and a few dogs have encountered their spray!!
If you discover skunk activity, notify Matt Crase at 967-4237.
Please do not put food out for birds or squirrels. This also attracts less desirable critters.
Be sure your trash can lids are on tight.
